SONY’S INTERNAL RESTRUCTURING
With next-gen approaching, Sony made some major changes to their internal structure this year. Shuhei Yoshida and Shawn Layden have been the face of PlayStation and Worldwide Studios for years, but both moved to varying extents, with Layden leaving Sony entirely, and Yoshida moving on to a more indie-focused initiative in the company. Yoshida was replaced as the head of Worldwide Studios by Hermen Hulst, formerly the head of Guerrilla Games. How (and if) this changes is anything still remains to be seen- for now, we’re just hoping Sony’s new leadership can oversee a smooth transition into next gen.
