Given all of the bullshit that Snake has endured in his life, it wouldn’t be strange to feel like something was off every time he died. In Metal Gear Solid 4, calling Rosemary after dying will see Snake talking about seeing visions of his death. If stabbed to death, he’ll have visions of the same. Upon drowning, he’ll claim to have a “gut feeling” of drowning before and talk about paying more attention to his O2 gauge, even coming up for air more regularly. All of this was just a way for Rose to offer up tips on how to avoid death (read: not getting stabbed) but it was cool all the same.
