Celes’ Attempted Suicide – Final Fantasy 6
Kefka’s Cataclysm is often cited as one of the most memorable moments in the series for many reasons. However, the aftermath – especially surrounding Celes – is worth noting. After the cataclysmic events, Celes goes into a coma and is cared for by Cid, who essentially raised her as his daughter. The world is in bad shape, both figuratively and literally, but Celes is still alive and tries to care for Cid when he falls sick. Unfortunately, Celes has the potential to kill Cid by giving him bad quality food. This pushes her to try and commit suicide, believing she’s been left alone in a doomed world. However, she survives, and works to reunite with Locke and the others to ultimately stop Kefka.
