7. Fable Legends
Fable Legends is different from other games in Lionhead’s long-running action RPG series because it sets its sights firmly on co-op play. That’s not to say that earlier titles in the series didn’t spend any time on the mechanic or that Fable Legends is a multiplayer only title. Neither of these is true. But Fable Legends is the first title in the series to really push the feature. The big difference this time is that the game supports up to five players: four as the Heros and one as the Villain opposing them. It’s a cool little mechanic, from what we’ve seen, and really plays to the strengths of the series – that is, the unique abilities associated with Skill, Will, and Strength (now each assigned to a different hero), and the personality of the characters and the game world. The game is set before the previous games in the franchise, so we’ll get to see a version of Albion we’re unfamiliar with. Plus, you can play as a villain! How cool is that?
