Alien Isolation has a huge dedicated fanbase, but it’s one of those games that presents a schism in the opinions of critics and the larger audience. It sits at a Metacritic score of 79, but as anyone who’s played the game would tell you, it deserves far, far more than that. It is a thrilling, constantly tense horror title that ranks among the very best this genre has delivered. Regardless of whether or not you’re a fan of the Alien property, this is a game you need to play.
