VANQUISH
PlatinumGames have developed a buttload of classics over the years, but the one that gets overlooked most often is their third person shooter, Vanquish. What sets this gem apart is that, in spite of releasing in an era when the industry was dominated by Gears of War clones with sticky cover shooting mechanics, Vanquish instead put the focus on hyper mobility and extreme style. Power sliding through its chaotic levels and mowing down enemies in the most stylish way possible reeked of the trademark Platinum flair, and it’s really a shame that the game didn’t get all the praise and attention that it deserved.
