Fallout 3
Before we actually received what would be known as Fallout 3, the Fallout IP was in turmoil. Black Isle Studios was busy working on its own Fallout 3 but that was eventually cancelled when Interplay went belly up. Bethesda Softworks would acquire the franchise and start development on its FPS/RPG hybrid in 2004 which eventually released in 2008. It sold well and received tons of acclaim though a number of fans take issue with how it made the series “too casual” for a new generation.
