Sony’s PlayStation 2 is the best-selling console of all time with more than 155 million units sold since 2000. The console started somewhat slow but picked up with awesome title after awesome title. Even when other consoles like the Xbox and GameCube rivaled it in terms of visuals, there were still plenty of great and visually splendid titles (not all exclusives, mind you) to enjoy on the PS2. As a jump from the PS One to the PS2 era, the animations, texture work and cinematic direction saw monumental improvements. Despite the highly industrial setting, environments were realistic, right down to the grime, dirt and atmospheric lighting.
