It may be nonsensical, but it’s a joy to watch. After hacking and slashing giant, grotesque angels on top of a clock face, we join Bayonetta as she does her shopping. A fighter jet then streaks between the skyscrapers of New York, barreling straight for our heroine. She gracefully flips onto the plane, dramatically suits up, and gets to bashing in style. After the over-the-top original, the sequel sets to raising the bar right away.
