This one is kinda dense, but it’s par for the course for Metal Gear. Introns aren’t a part of the final sequence of a mature RNA strand, so they are lost to history, so to speak. Exons are, so they make their mark on history. And that, ultimately, is what Solidus Snake is all about- making a mark on history, and about making sure that the Patriots can’t control the flow of information and hence be able to prevent that. It’s a solid statement of intent, and him attempting to make his mark even as the Patriots try to exert complete control over information is, more anything else, a symbol of what he’s fighting for.
