“WAR HAS CHANGED” -OLD SNAKE, METAL GEAR SOLID 4
A direct contradiction of everything the Fallout series has been trying to teach us for so long, but still, what a great way to open up this concluding chapter of the winding saga. Metal Gear Solid 4 pulled no punches as it showed us just what The Patriots and their desire for absolute control had led to. Seeing that lead to global war becoming more or less an industry unto itself was a gut-punch that set the tone for the entire game, and Old Snake’s “war has changed” monologue described the state of the world perfectly.
