Half Life 2 (E3 2003)
When you talk about “surreal” though, the extensive Half Life 2 demo from E3 2003 was nothing but. It was odd to suddenly see the sequel revealed. But showcasing so much footage of the physics-based gameplay, intelligent enemy AI, excellent facial animation and the wonders of the Gravity Gun made it one of the best reveals of the show. Even if Half Life 3 never releases, Half Life 2 still presents a triumph in game design.
