HALF-LIFE: ALYX – THE ENDING
Coming after more than a decade-long hiatus for a series that had left things hanging with one of the biggest cliffhangers in video game history, Half-Life: Alyx had lots to live up to, and it’s fair to say it did that with great aplomb. The entire experience is a wonderful showcase of what can be possible in VR with a talented developer, time, and resources, but the moment that likely sealed the game as one that will be talked about for years to come is its ending. Witnessing Half-Life 2: Episode Two’s ending being essentially retconned and characters moving into completely new territories where we have no idea what awaits them was a exciting moment for every fan of the series- and it just makes endless the wait for Half-Life 3 that much harder.
