Remedy Entertainment has always been known for excellent combat mechanics, going all the way back to the Max Payne games, but with Control, they reached entirely new heights. The changing forms of the Service Weapon each feel meaningfully powerful and unique from one another, but what really makes the combat shine is Jesse’s telekinetic abilities, while essentially turn you into a gun-toting modern-day Jedi. Fights are unbelievably frantic and busy, with debris flying around and gorgeous explosions punctuating the action, and right up until the credits roll, you never get tired of that spectacle.
