FIFA 21 Legacy Edition
For all of the nice things we’ve seen from Electronic Arts lately – a return to more single-player focused games, reviving Dead Space etc – it’s easy to forget just how shamefully it monetizes its sports titles. Ultimate Team microtransactions are bad enough but last year’s FIFA 21 was an even bigger laughing stock due to its Legacy Edition. This was essentially the Switch version but aside from updated kits and rosters, it was the exact same game as FIFA 20 Legacy Edition. No major improvements or features from the other versions. Just the exact same game, re-sold for $50 simply to profit off of any Switch fans that wanted some kind of football title to play. FIFA 22 Legacy Edition has already been confirmed so look forward to playing roughly the same game for a third consecutive year on the platform.
