DRAGON AGE 2
Dragon Age 2 had a famously rushed and troubled development, with BioWare being forced to deliver a sequel to one of their best games ever within the span of a year and a half. The final product definitely reflects that. Dragon Age 2 isn’t a bad game by any means, but it sort of misses the point of why everybody loved Origins so much. Role playing mechanics were cut down in a misguided effort to streamline the experience, choice and consequence mechanics weren’t nearly as impactful, the decision to set the entire game within Kirkwall and its outskirts ended up backfiring, and things such as excessively reused assets were just evidence of the fact that the game was developed on a very tight timeline. A bad game? Not really. A worthy follow-up to Origins? Not even close.
