The Last of Us Part 1’s PC Launch
Did The Last of Us really need a remake, especially after Sony gave it the Remastered treatment? Probably not, but if nothing else, at least PC players could experience the classic for the first time. Unfortunately, its launch was riddled with issues. Dozens of minutes to hours for compiling shaders, horrendous performance, crashes, freezing, missing face textures, paper mache hair – the sheer state of it all, especially from a company like Sony, was pathetic. It would eventually get back on track thanks to numerous patches, and thankfully, Nixxes would handle subsequent PC ports going forward.
