Saints Row: The Third
The side-missions in Saints Row: The Third might not have been as great as the campaign but they pioneered the insanity that would make the franchise so incredible. Cyber Blazing for instance takes you on a light cycle race much like Tron. Professor Genki’s Super Ethical Reality Climax has you taking part in a series of game show challenges escalating in degrees of murder. Even the more traditional missions like destroying property or escorting NPCs are turned upside down by throwing in tanks and tigers. If you’re really bored, go take a Stronghold or two in the meantime.
