With all these innovative ideas being stuffed into a game already five years in the making, what is left to share with those interested in such an original IP from a major game developer? How about the idea to really stop in your tracks for a moment and truly think about what this world is? Horizon: Zero Dawn is a game that is truly a breath of fresh air.

For a game to achieve a real grasp of what it is and give us an emotional tug at where we are, what we are thinking, how we feel at this moment within this game world, is to grasp its existence. Grasp its form of art and carry it over into our psyche by just that moment when we sit back and we say: “How did this world come to be?” “How did humans survive this apocalypse?” “How will I avoid getting eaten by this dinosaur robot I named Chomp Chomp?” Those are moments when a game like Horizon: Zero Dawn stretches beyond its vocal point of binary code and polygons and touches us a humans all. That is how Horizon will be a game changer for the open world genre.
