Duke Nukem Forever

duke nukem forever

Much like Wolfenstein that we discussed before, Duke Nukem was all the rage back in the 90s. Duke Nukem Forever was quickly announced after the release of the original to capitalize on the original’s success, but it never came out. The game was delayed again and again and even switched developers before Duke Nukem Forever finally came out in 2011 after undergoing a development cycle of 14 years. Sadly, that elongated development cycle didn’t bear any fruit since Duke Nukem Forever was panned by critics and fans alike on account of its tasteless humor, dated gameplay, and uninteresting story. Duke Nukem Forever was a failed project in all respects, and only serves to demonstrate that sometimes giving up is a better option than toiling away at a lost cause.
