12. Don’t Make It Dead Space Like
Don’t get me wrong. Dead Space games are excellent. I’m a goner for them. But the charm of a horror survival game ended with the second iteration of the game. Even in the first two, the games were so bounteous and trying to scare the gamer that they ended up putting the player on edge at ALL times throughout the game.
The ramifications of which meant that the players were always ready for ‘something’ to happen at every moment. this reduced the ‘horror’ aspect of the game considerably, but still, not quite. Doom 4 has to be cunning with regard to this and constantly maintain the surprise element in the game at the right moments.
