14. Play and Charge Kit
Microsoft invested quite some time and research into making the Xbox One controller. But apparently they disregarded the best of lessons that they should have learned by now. It’s a great relief to be rid of the impregnated Xbox 360 wireless controller but we still find grumbling over a few things. We don’t mind MS keeping the option of using AA batteries for the controller. But why not rechargeable ones?
If you really want a rechargeable battery pack, you gotta buy the risibly prices $24 play and charge kit. A $500 console with a $60 controller and they couldn’t give us a pre-bundled rechargeable battery pack? PS3 did it all fine, the PS4 does too. Such marketing gimmicks in the name of innovation and creating a better user experience is cheap, and that’s being generous on our part. Live up to your name, Microsoft, include a decent battery pack with the controller.
