METAL GEAR SOLIV V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
The Phantom Pain was at the eye of a massive storm of controversy when it launched for a variety of reasons, and unfortunately enough, microtransactions was one of them. People could basically spend real money to purchase “insurance” for their FOB, which was pretty ridiculous to begin with, while they could also spend money to buy Mother Base coins (which can used in single player and multiplayer). It’s also worth noting that the aforementioned “insurance” didn’t cover a lot of important stuff, such as nuclear weapons, which were quite intrinsically tied to the entire FOB mechanics to begin with.
