NIDUS

The appeal of bullet hell games for many is the kaleidoscopic visual onslaught a raft of swirling projectiles presents on-screen, dazzling in their beauty. The satisfaction in honing skill is another. Whilst NIDUS presents beauty and demanding gameplay like a host of other arcade classics, none that’s come before appears as distinct as this. This twin-stick shooter is admittedly niche, but the chance to control two symbiotic nodes simultaneously – an attacking wasp and shielding flower – is surely too good an opportunity for the most sadistic of high-score hunters. If your skills are middling, then NIDUS offers a welcome co-operative mode as well.
