Kill Knight
Kill Knight’s isometric shooting is quite like Housemarque’s Nex Machina in appearance, but an analysis of its combat mechanics yields more depth beyond rip-roaring arcade action. Outside of choosing your loadout, some weapons can be used to refill health and ammo. Plus, Kill Knight’s reload mechanic invites you to time specific button presses to absorb material or increase bullet damage. There’s a lot to keep track of amongst the franticness, but once you get into the groove it’s an immensely satisfying and addictive loop. The pinnacle of ‘one more run’, Kill Knight will eat into your playtime by the hour-load.
