TOYS TO LIFE
Toys to life are like microtransactions, but offline. You’re basically putting all this extra money into a game that you already paid for, to unlock all this extra content that should have been part of your initial purchase. There’s way too much physical crap involved, and there are also new ones coming up all the time, which means you’re never really done buying them, and the investment you put into any game even after buying it ends up being way too high. Sure, you get to keep toys that, in some cases (like with Ambiibos) are actually pretty well built, but unless you’re a collector, after a certain point, that just stops being worth it.
