Basically, we could have made an entire list about stuff like this done by Nintendo. The eReader though, in all fairness, was actually not that bad of an idea. Nintendo just failed to realize its potential as well as they could and should have. It was, essentially, a reader that you could use to swipe cards to unlock content in games on the Gameboy Advance, while you could also use it to scan cards and actually play NES games. The tech that they used was, frankly, pretty impressive- if only Nintendo had actually put it to use properly, it could have been so much more than a half-forgotten gimmick.
