Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
At one point, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater was viewed as an incredible franchise…before unnecessary gimmicks, poor quality control and excessive milking earned it tons of ire. If the remasters for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 proved anything though, it’s that there is a market for those who want excellent pro skating action. With Microsoft now owning the IP, it’s a question of taking what works and building on it, maintaining the same gameplay while providing new playable characters, incredible new levels (which is easier said than done) and a rocking soundtrack.
A remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 along with Underground seems a given but a brand new sequel has to happen at some point, regardless of Visceral Games’ current status.
