Dead Space
Visceral Studios is dead. Long live Visceral Studios. Dead Space would define the developer from the get-go, impressing us with its intense combat and psychological horror. Dead Space 2 felt bigger and better but also more frightening, like the envelope was being pushed further and further. Of course, the desire to appeal to a more casual audience gave us Dead Space 3, a more action-heavy third person shooter with co-op elements. Suffice to say, it flopped and the franchise was put out to pasture as Visceral focused on Battlefield: Hardline and then Star Wars (before being shuttered). Considering the number of franchises EA usually resurrects, we may not ever see another Dead Space.
