Dead Cells Rise of the Giant

In Dead Cells, you play as a nameless, beheaded prisoner stuck on an island where a horrible disease has spread and everyone’s gone berserk. Everyone blames the King for his handling of the outbreak and many soldiers side with an Alchemist, who conducts various experiments to cure the Malaise. With subsequent updates, it was revealed that the prisoner – who’s actually the King – was stuck in a time-loop of sorts and each of the different randomly generated layouts represented different timelines, all in an attempt to fix things. Also, the Collector is the Alchemist, having collected Cells to create a Panacea to cure the Malaise. Things turn out about as well as you’d expect.
