Horizon Zero Dawn – Sylens and HADES
While all of us expected some kind of scenario where a robot AI rose up against its creators, resulting in humanity’s extinction Horizon Zero Dawn made things significantly more nuanced. To that end, the story still had Aloy going up against HADES to prevent it from destroying life as we know it. HADES surviving that final battle, albeit in a weakened state, wasn’t the big twist. Rather, it finds Sylens, the former founder of the Eclipse, and that Sylens referred to it as “old friend”? That was some foreshadowing we didn’t expect.
