Vanquish
When Resident Evil master Shinji Mikami was revealed as Vanquish’s director, the hype surrounding this already hotly anticipated fast-paced, bullet hell shooter grew exponentially. Then the penny dropped that this was an arcade style experience, thus short. However, the fun here is in replaying the game, mastering its slide-boost movement, ditching cover, becoming streamlined. Despite this, critics still decided its short length was worthy of downgrade, but they missed the point entirely.
