We won’t get a good sense of what the hardware of the Xbox Series X is truly capable of until proper new-gen exclusive releases start rolling around in numbers, but even with a large number of cross-gen titles, remasters, and next-gen patches for older games, the new Xbox consoles have given us an exciting sneak peak at what they have in store for us. Here, we’ll be taking a look at some games that are playable on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X but manage to showcase some impressive improvements on the latter.
GEARS 5
Microsoft released native Xbox Series X optimizations for a number of its biggest first party releases on the Xbox One in the early days and weeks of the new consoles, and one of the most impressive ones was undoubtedly Gears 5. Already a visual and technical stunner on the Xbox One, The Coalition’s shooter is even more jaw-dropping on more powerful hardware, from its 4K resolution and support for up to 120 FPS gameplay to improvements in other areas, such as load times, lighting, latency, refresh rates, and much more.
