THE ASCENT

This is another one of those games that, where visuals are concerned, it’s almost impossible to believe that it was made by a small indie team. The Ascent looks absolutely stunning on all platforms it’s available on, so even the baseline experience is a gorgeous one, but on the Xbox Series X, with gorgeous lighting, improved frame rates and image quality, ridiculously detailed environments, and improved load times, it’s a noticeable superior experience. The fact that developer Neon Giant has been ironing out technical issues in the game with post-launch patches at a regular clip makes it that much better.
