Remedy Entertainment’s catalog has enough classics in it that picking one as the best of the best can be a bit of a headache, but Max Payne 2 is always in that conversation without fail. And it’s not hard to see why. Remedy as a studio is known for telling excellent stories and telling them in excellent fashion, and Max Payne 2 was, in many ways, where the developer really cemented that reputation. Add to that the stylish, adrenaline-fueled gameplay with all the flash of slow-motion jumps and bullet time and what have you, and it’s hard not to see Max Payne 2 as an all-time great.
