Hunt Showdown is all about hunting exotic monsters with friends in a wide variety of locales, and it can make for an extremely fun time. It looks absolutely gorgeous which is to be expected from the CryEngine, but it also plays very well. Guns are impactful, player progression keeps things interesting, and the gameplay loop of the familiar cat-and-mouse chase keeps adrenaline levels at a consistent high. Hunt: Showdown is an underrated gem, and it’s a shame that it never got to enjoy the longevity it deserves.
