Killer Instinct has always been rather niche next to the Mortal Kombats and Street Fighters of yore. It’s even sadder here because the latest entry in the franchise is one of the best fighting games out, filled with a fun, diverse roster and an incredible system that leaned into the series’ absurdly long combos. Coupled with features like the Dojo for learning everything, the rogue-lite Shadow Lords, and more, it’s worth playing, especially with the Xbox Series X/S update en route.
