Bloodborne
Lies of P probably filled that dark space left by Bloodborne, but very few titles can best the latter. From every standpoint (except probably technical), it’s an absolute masterpiece in aesthetics, combat design, bosses, world design, lore, music, and more. Moments like the battle against Gascoigne, venturing off the beaten path to Cainhurst Castle, seeing the world with open eyes for the first time, and the final conflict stays with you, long after it’s over. Or at least until you venture into The Old Hunters, which is even better.
