Gears 5
Gears of War has always been a cover shooter, relying on water cooler moments to propel its narrative. Gears 5 sought to stretch those limitations, incorporating larger, more open environments and side quests, but backed with the same incredible shooting. New weapons and foes, a new mystery to solve, and incredible production values served to showcase just how valuable the Gears brand was to Xbox (even if multiplayer could have been better at launch).
