Improved parkour mechanics which include vertical wall running, the setting of the French Revolution and a focus on next gen consoles – Ubisoft is certainly aiming high with Assassin’s Creed: Unity. While there’s no indication that naval combat will return but if the developer proved anything with Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, it’s that it can go above and beyond expectations even when the stakes are high. The war between the Assassins and Templars lacks direction at this point so perhaps Unity will get the story back in track. And whatever Comet turns out to be, hopefully it won’t end up being the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation of 2014.
