11. Heavily modified engines in place of brand new engines
Gamers can expect to see some pretty heavy duty modified engines ruling the games in place of brand new engines. For example, Call of Duty Ghosts runs on a modified engine that has powered so many games on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and yet the game just looks the same as it did previously, with just a few minor changes. Nothing has really changed in terms of next gen. Players were annoyed as Activision/IW was pushing this as a brand new engine, but everything looked the same and to an extent bland.
