Games are a great medium for the player to get attached to a particular character. Some games are so good at story telling that players are forced not to play them but live them. Through this first part of our feature we take a look at the top 8 Emotional Moments in PlayStation Games.

Note: Due to the vast library of games available, it’s impossible to include what our you love. So your best bet is to let us know in the comments below.

7. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

One of the best games this generation had quite a rare emotional moment. Nathan Drake is a very tough guy, but when Elena is injured by a bomb, Drake thinks that he has lost her. The moment just lasts for a few seconds, but in that time he proves how much he loves her. Take a look below.

6.  God of War: Ghost of Sparta

***Spoiler Alert***

Throughout the game, you are fighting off against hordes of enemies and titanic bosses just to find your brother Deimos. Kratos does find him, but after fighting off together against Thanatos, Deimos is killed. The way Kratos carries off his brother in his arms and puts him in his grave is extremely emotional. Take a look.

5. God of War

Ever wonder why Kratos kills and slices anything human? Because he murdered his own family, his own wife and daughter. The way he says, “What I have done?” is very touching indeed and we completely understand why he’s on the rampage to kills the heads of the Olympous.

4. Heavy Rain

***Spoiler Alert***

How far are you going to go to save someone you love? And this theme made me do things that I would never want to do in real life. Yes I am talking about the gruesome finger cutting scene in which Ethan Mars has to cut his own finger in order to find the address of his kidnapped son. This is not only emotionally disturbing but is one of the most dramatic scenes in recent video game history.

3. Shadow of the Colossus

Undoubtedly throughout the game, the player experiences a close relationship with its horse Agro. If you look closely, Agro does not fall naturally while the floor is collapsing; it sacrifices itself to save the protagonist. Who says dogs are the most loyal animals on earth?
