PLAYSTATION ALL-STARS BATTLE ROYALE

Super Smash Bros. is a celebration of all things Nintendo (and more and more in recent years, a celebration of all things in the industry in general), and the crossover fighting franchise has achieved great success over the years. In the PlayStation 3 era, Sony decided they wanted a little sliver of that pie for themselves. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale brought together a number or well known Sony characters, from PaRappa the Rapper and Sackboy to Kratos and Nathan Drake. To be fair, it was a pretty enjoyable experience, but a lack of meaningful content, balancing issues with how to win a match, and other smaller problems came together to amount to a game that couldn’t stand as tall as the series it borrowed so liberally from.
