Will Move be successful? ‘Depends on hardcore gamers’

David Cage, director of the popular interactive QTE based game, Heavy Rain, says that he is very impressed with Sony’s motion sensing technology in their upcoming Move, and that it will be success as a piece of hardware, but might be held back if it isn’t supported with proper games catering moreto the hardcore audiences.

It really depends on the software because the hardware works really well,” Cage told GameIndustry.biz. He says he feels the impact and longevitiy of Move depends on how much it caters to the hardcore audiences.

“If it’s only about casual entertainment and casual games I don’t think it’s going to play a big role in the life of the console,” he said. “If it can get more support from triple-A titles then that will be interesting.”

Well, so far, games like inFamous 2, Killzone 2, Killzone 3 and Heavy Rain have been announced to be the ‘hardcore’ games that will support Move. I don’t care, though, as long as I get to squeeze those colorful balls. The Move balls, I mean, please don’t get me wrong.
