Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flags Could Have Interesting Shooting Mechanics

Ubisoft have done a tremendous job with the box art of Assassin’s Creed 4. They have surprisingly added accurate little details which results in more authenticity.

It is a well known fact that Pirates carried multiple firearms due to the nature of their job. Many of these weapons had different ammo sizes so they absolutely loaded themselves with weapons. That is why the English and Dutch pirates didn’t reload much. This is something that has been depicted pretty well in Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flags.

As you can see from above, the main protagonist of Assassin’s Creed 4 is literally loaded with weapons. He has a weapon on his back, two on his chest and another gun in his right hand. To top that he is also carrying the legendary assassin blade and a sword.

Now this could result into interesting gameplay mechanics. During a fight sequence the player can take a shot with one of his weapons, holster it and draw another weapon. It basically means having 4-5 guns at once with very few reload time, more shots before the player can jump in to melee combat.

As you progress you might be able to unlock different types of weapons and may even be able to carry more weapons and perhaps you may be able to see the most accurate pirate fights in video games.

This is one of the reasons why Black Beard, one of the well known English pirate always carried 6-8 weapons at once.

So in all, Ubisoft are certainly nailing it in terms of representation. We will know more next week.
