Sigh, EA. SIGH.

Electronic Arts, in their infinite wisdom and “do-no-wrong” state, have been banning user accounts it suspects were collecting chargebacks from Amazon. This means that gamers who took refunds from Amazon were having their accounts removed. But then, what if you simply have a faulty key and haven’t ordered a refund?

Such is the story of Jeff (via Reddit) who had an invalid key for the game and upon contacting Amazon and retrieving another key, learned that it was invalid because EA thought he had instituted a chargeback request.

Hilariously enough, Amazon was more than willing to refund his money in the form of credit while EA was either offering a free game or a 15 percent discount on the next purchase. Let’s not forget the wonderful customer support that kept him on hold for an hour or EA replacing its customer support number with asterisks in the SimCity forum.

We’d make a clever quip about the sorrowful state of SimCity online. But you know what? Let our review about how the game JUST ISN’T WORTH IT speak for itself.
