Speaking to Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry, SCE Santa Monica Studio’s graphics engineers Ben Diamand and Cedric Perthuis were quite happy about how Sony’s next generation PlayStation 4 has turned out.

As Diamand stated, “It’s definitely got its share of interesting challenges – filling up that much memory from disk takes some time. From a technical standpoint, the DDR5 part is perhaps more interesting to me. But the 8 GB part makes me pretty happy, too, since I think it makes a powerful PR statement.”

Indeed, ever since its reveal on February 21st, the PS4 has been garnering a ton of attention for the sheer power and memory it possesses for games. SCE Santa Monica, along with several other studios, was actually involved in creating the PS4, suggesting changes and different features.

As of now, the studio is busy with PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. It’ll be interesting to see what they have in mind with the next generation – and whether we’ll see that at E3 2013.
