Splinter Cell Blacklist Community Developer Video Sheds Light on Revamped Co-Op

The co-op experience in Blacklist is above and beyond that of Conviction's.

Ubisoft Toronto might have taken Sam back to his sneaky ways, but there’s a lot that’s different with Splinter Cell: Blacklist. The co-op is only one of those things, and as lead co-op game designer Richard Carrillo explains in this new community developer video, the mode has been severely expanded this time around.

First off, the game can be played in split-screen or with online players, and features 14 unique missions with at least 4 different types throughout. Some missions have you relying on stealth but the varied gameplay styles come into play in different ways. What’s more, it all ties into the narrative experience of the game.

The levels themselves are sigificantly more open, and allow for wider strategies between players. You can go it alone, provide overwatch support or just sneak around together. It’s up to you.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is set to release for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on August 20th in North America and August 23rd in Europe.
