Xbox One Launch Information Floundering, Support Lacks Information

"More information coming soon" though.

We’ve documented the lack of a clear message in Microsoft’s Xbox One marketing campaign. From used game fees being charged to the decision being left up to publishers and information on the Family Policy that Microsoft is pushing, the Xbox One is quickly turning into a PR nightmare for the company.

Now information on launch countries has become the next target. Or rather, Xbox Support’s lack of information on anything. More than a few users tweeted about being able to pick up the console in a supported country and whether the console would still work if they moved to another country. The response is the same though.

Microsoft’s Family Policy also stated that a single Xbox One could have 10 different users on it, accessing the same game library (though – again – there’s confusion on whether concurrent use is allowed). However, does that extend to Xbox Live across multiple consoles? No information.

And despite the fact Phil Spencer himself stated that you can have close friends and acquaintances along with family members on the same console, Support still seems clueless about whether this is possible.

Of course, tech questions are out of the, er, question as well.

Given the utter confusion being created as to whether one could pick up an Xbox One in one country and use it in another (despite the information already being available that it is region-locked), and the utter lack of information on the Family Policy and sharing a single Gold account on multiple consoles, is Xbox Support simply in the dark, or incompetent? Stay tuned for more.
