New details for Battlefield 4’s multiplayer have become available. According to DICE, there will be dynamic weather in maps, with weather conditions able to affect visibility. It hasn’t been confirmed whether this will be dynamic within the map itself, changing as the match rolls on, or whether there will be different conditions for each match overall (perhaps selectable from the outset). However, it has been confirmed that they will have an effect on naval combat, with larger waves affecting how you aim and maneuver.

DICE has also confirmed that there won’t be night cycles for the game. Despite giving it a try, apparently visibility levels were too low. Nonetheless, day cycles are confirmed and this could mean different times of day during the matches. It has also been confirmed that there will be new specializations. Upgraded Personal Armour will also return, but it hasn’t been confirmed if this is a specialization or not.

PC players will also be able to customize their UI and HUD. For example, they can make the mini-map bigger or smaller and change its position on the screen or even have it so that the ammo count is right above a soldier’s head. There will also be options to decide which faction starts on a match. So if a match if China vs. Russia, it could perhaps be changed to the United States vs. Russia, which affects the weapons and vehicles that can be selected.

Finally, DICE has apparently changed its infrastructure to allow for easier implementation of weapons and vehicles. How this will come into play, perhaps for future DLCs and updates, remains to be seen. Battlefield 4 is currently set to release on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 29th with a PS4 and Xbox One release in Q4 2013.
